My cousin Ally...

She is finally home, and has been since January 19th.  She has been doing really well, and adjusting to her new life . I've only gotten to see her twice so far, but I honestly can't even express how much I love her, and how much I love adoption. The first time I saw her, she was a little nervous at first and didn't know what to think about all the new people, but after a while she warmed up  and I got to play with her. (She would throw a little MP3 player toy and Rachel(Her sister) and I would give it back to her) Today was the second time I got to see her, she didn't seem scared of us at all. I got to play with her again, a very similar game as the first time. ;) But this time she would follow me to get to the toy, and when I hid it behind my back she would go around me and find it! This game made her so happy. I don't understand how I can love someone I've only met twice, so so much! Her smile, her laugh, her eyes. She's amazing and I just love her. And to think that someone gave her up is unbelievable. I'm so happy, and thankful that my aunt and uncle decided that THEY would be her parents; that they would love her and never give her up. They went through the emotional and stressful journey to bring THEIR daughter home. Adoption is absolutely beautiful, and I hope that one day I'll be like my aunt and uncle, and adopt as well.

I've always loved adoption, but Ally's adoption has really sparked a new love for it. This is the first time I've ever really witnessed an adoption, and seen how needed and beautiful it is. I've read blogs, and read my FB friends adoption journey's, but to be able to see an adoption process, and actually meet the one being adopted has been so amazing. When I look back at the first picture I ever saw of Ally, and to see her now, is shocking. She has only been home for a little over a month and there is already a huge difference! It's amazing what love and care can do. I can't help smiling when I see pictures of her, all happy and cheerful. When my aunt Sabrina and uncle Jeff first met her she had absolutely no idea that she had parents and siblings that had been waiting for her, loving her, and preparing to bring her home. Now, she is home and can finally be in a comfortable, loving home.

I wish everyone would just realize how amazing adoption is, to adopt and save a child(or children)'s lives from loneliness, starvation, and death. I am so thankful to the people who have chosen to adopt and to save the children that their biological parents gave up, and to give them a new life filled with love, happiness and protection. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up to save a child's life!
